What is an Immobiliser?

An Immobiliser is an important part of vehicle security as it prevents the car from being started without the authorised access code, usually contained within the key. Immobilisers are the best defence against a car being ‘hot wired’ or being started with the incorrect key due to the ignition barrel being worn down after years of use.

How important is it to have?

Research showed that in Australia, only 7% of cars that were stolen had immobiliser, while almost half of all cars in Australia have immobiliser installed in them. A lot of the cars that were stolen with an immobiliser were because the thief had access to the key, but it is still clear that immobiliser protect vehicles from being stolen.

All of the immobiliser we supply have at least the following features:
